What is New?
Canada now has a professional designation for evaluators.
The designation is "Credentialed Evaluator".
The designation is available for members of the Canadian Evaluation Society who have a membership number.
The qualifications are as follows:
- Have a degree or certificate; AND
- Two years FTE work experience in program evaluation; AND
- Demonstrate the relevance of education AND experience to the five domains of Competencies for Canadian Evaluation Practice (PDF)
You may apply for the designation as early as January 2010. A grandfathering clause will allow current CES members (membership list of June 2009) to obtain the designation with an undergraduate degree and 5 years of experience. They should however demonstrate knowledge of the competencies, standards and ethical guideline. This provision will likely be available for 6 month from January 2010.
Please go to the CES professional designation link for further information.
